Sr. Research Consultant, Dell SecureWorks John Omernik is currently a data architect at Secureworks, where he helps build up systems to bridge the gap between data and security. John has been active in the banking industry; he began in systems architecture before moving to information security and finally to fraud intelligence and analytics.

Dean Wampler

Office of the CTO, Architect for Big Data Products & Services at Lightbend (formerly Typesafe) Dean Wampler, Ph.D. (@deanwampler) is a member of the Office of the CTO and the Architect for Big Data Products and Services at Typesafe. He helps customers build Big Data systems using Spark, Mesos, the Typesafe Reactive Platform, and other tools. Dean is the author or co-author of three O'Reilly books on Scala, Functional Programming, and Hive. He contributes to several open source projects (including Spark) and he co-organizes and speaks at many technology conferences and Chicago-based user groups.
